Interested In Joining Buckeye TV?
Have you ever
wondered what it would look like to be a part of a fast
paced television environment? Buckeye TV provides an
excellent opportunity for anybody interested in the
field of television broadcast to get first hand experience
and training.
Buckeye TV has a wide variety
of departments that are working on a multitude of projects.
Below is a list of some of the current activities of
Buckeye TV. If any of the following sound interesting
to you then we hope you consider joining our team.
News:
* Creating a weekly news journal with in-depth reporting
which airs each week at 6:30 PM.
* Provides an excellent opportunity to learn about the
differences between print journalism and broadcast.
* Using BUCKITV.OSU.EDU to bring the stories that are
seen on the air to a print form for people to have an
opportunity other than the lantern to get involved in
print journalism
Sports:
* Starting to cover some sporting events live on Buckeye
TV.
* Working with WOSU to produce a sports show which will
air on both WOSU.Plus as well as Buckeye TV this spring,
"Buckeye Sports Night", slated for a five-six
episode run later this quarter.
* Continuing to develop show and production ideas in
concert with WOSU.TV
Broadcast Operations
/ Information Technology:
* Building an operations department responsible for
photography, production, post, and other broadcast operations
aspects of a fully functional television station.
* Recently upgraded our network connection with a fiber
backbone to OSUNET with 100 megabits of bandwidth.
* Working to use the Ohio State network infrastructure
to stream video in order to do remote live broadcasts.
* The continued development of this website: BUCKITV.OSU.EDU
Marketing
* Working to develop an on-air marketing strategy to
individualize our station.
* Creating eye catching, informative promotions that
utilize the station's best marketing asset - its on-air
signal.
Sales
* Responsible for selling on-air advertising and program
sponsorships to finance the station's operations.
* Starting to spread the word to area businesses about
the affordable advertising opportunities available to
them via Buckeye TV.
Music
* Continuing to develop a relationship with record labels
both locally and nationally to increase our collection
of videos to air on Buckeye TV.
* Continued development of a show that highlights some
of the latest trends in music at Ohio State, Music On
Campus.
Above are just a few examples
of the many projects currently underway at Buckeye TV.

What is the Introductory
Program?
The Introductory Program is a pass / fail theatre 693
class that lasts for one quarter. While enrolled you
will be responsible for being involved at the station
in any number of departments for a minimum of three
hours per week.
The Position Program
The Buckeye TV position program is a theatre 405.10
class in which you recieve a letter grade for your performance.
Anyone who has completed the introductory program is
eligible to be in the Position Program. This course
is more intense with a requirement of six hours per
week in one department that students are interested
in. Position students work exclusively with a department
of their choice.
